Rebounding from a flat first quarter 2011 performance, the San Antonio retail market experienced a healthy bounce in 2Q 2011 led by an upswing in mid-sized transactions, according to Kim Gatley with NAI REOC San Antonio.
New leases and expansions generated 235,457 sf of positive net absorption which improved the citywide vacancy rate to 13 percent compared to 13.4 percent 1Q 2011 and 14.1 percent recorded a year ago. Read more ....
Declining trend in foreclosures continues for San Antonio (8/1/2011)
Over the first six months of 2011, foreclosure notices were filed on 4,933 homes in the greater San Antonio area, according to RealtyTrac. That figure marks a 21 percent decline from the number of postings recorded for the first six months of 2010.
Bexar County is enjoying a run of decreasing postings, according to Foreclosure Listing Service Inc. (FLS). A total of 1,195 foreclosure notices were filed in the Bexar County Courthouse for the upcoming August auction — down 6 percent from the 1,278 postings filed for the August 2010 auction.
The August number marks the fifth consecutive month in which monthly posting activity was down compared to the same month the previous year. Read more ....
